RIDGEWOOD - A Ridgewood native is finding hope through the form of boxing in his third bout with cancer.

Anthony Daniels, 23, was first diagnosed in 2011 with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He has since beat the disease twice, but it has recently returned in a more serious form.

"I really don't feel good anymore,” said Daniels. “Whether it's a headache or just going to the bathroom, it's just really difficult."

Through all the struggles, Daniels has been preparing for his first amateur fight, which is expected next month.

"The treatments make me mentally strong. This makes me physically and mentally strong and every single day, I strive to be stronger," said Daniels.

A short film titled, “To Be Strong,” featuring Daniels is set to air later this month.
