NEWARK - Police are continuing their investigation into the fatal shooting of an Essex County corrections officer, and they say a $10,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to a conviction.
Investigators say Officer Debora Ferreira, 32, was shot early yesterday morning after leaving a police officer's club in downtown Newark.Emergency response crews found Ferriera unresponsive in her car in front of Club Mentors. She was taken to University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators say the officer leaves behind a 1-year-old daughter.
Detectives say they have no motive or suspects in the shooting.
