ELIZABETH - People across New Jersey stocked up ahead of what could be a long weekend indoors.

Store managers at A&J Seabras grocery store in Elizabeth were restocking the meat department by 11 a.m. after crowds filled the checkout lanes and cleared shelves. Some shoppers who lost hundreds of dollars of food during Sandy were only loading up on the bare essentials.

Elsewhere, folks were also stocking up on wine and other spirits at Bayway Liquors ahead of a long, snowy weekend. Managers there said they would close early despite the crowds.
