TRENTON - Officials from President Obama's re-election campaign are reportedly digging up dirt on Gov. Chris Christie in the event that he runs for president.

Christie has repeatedly said he has no intentions of making a presidential run, but White House officials are conducting research on anyone who might be a strong candidate, according to The New York Post.

A Christie spokesman has told the paper that opposition research is "an acknowledgment that Christie is a bold leader, successfully taking on big challenges as governor."
