A new report shows that one out of every five traffic deaths in New Jersey involves a pedestrian. The study says people hit while walking

EDISON - A new report shows that one out of every five traffic deaths in New Jersey involves a pedestrian. The study says people hit while walking on the streets make up 21 percent of fatal car accidents. The victims tend to be overwhelmingly African-American, Hispanic and elderly.

The report found that over 47,000 people have been killed nationally from 2000 to 2009 while near or crossing roadways.
