HOBOKEN - Repairs are under way for the sinkhole that developed last week in Hoboken.

Tarps and sandbags were laid in the area under the roadway on Sinatra Drive to prevent soil erosion.

Wet and windy weather hampered efforts to begin repairs yesterday.

In a city news release, officials reminded residents that neighboring buildings, which are built upon pilings driven at least 50 feet into the bedrock, are not at risk.
