Relief group plans to clean out 30 homes in Wayne

WAYNE - A relief group is helping those who lost their homes due Hurricane Irene get back on their feet, free of charge.

The group, Samaritan's Purse, plans to gut about 30 homes in Wayne and completely rebuild them.

More than 70 volunteers are working to remove water-damaged belongings, strip out ruined sheetrock and flooring, and spraying to kill mold.

The organization is looking for volunteers of all skill levels to help with debris cleanup and construction. Those who wish to help can show up at 8 a.m. any morning at Calvary Temple, 1111 Preakness Ave. in Wayne or call 973-694-1630.
