EDISON - A registered sex offender in Mercer County is accused of trying to shower with children, both boys and girls.

Adam Woolf, 23, facing multiple charges after prosecutors say he posed as a maintenance man earlier this month at the Mercer Community College's pool and encouraged a group of boys to shower naked with him.

They say he tried to do the same thing in the girls' locker room.

According to Jack Furlong, Woolf's lawyer, Woolf never touched any of the children and that he's under medical and psychiatric care.

"Adam denies categorically doing anything that in his view is wrong,” says Furlong. “And given his intellectual limitations, I'm inclined to believe him. He is not Jerry Sandusky. He is not a manipulator."

Woolf is being held in the county jail pending a hearing scheduled for next month.
