EDISON - Red Cross volunteers are working through the holiday weekend to ensure those impacted by Hurricane Irene have a meal to eat.

Much of the food is being prepared at the Merri Makers catering facility at the Expo Center in Edison.

The food is then loaded onto the emergency response vehicles where it goes to areas such as the Mill Lake section of Monroe Township. The meals are funded by donations to the Red Cross.
