EDISON - Many entertainment networks want a piece of the Garden State pie. Dozens of reality shows have been shot in New Jersey lately, including the two most talked about, "Jersey Shore" and "The Real Housewives of New Jersey."
Shows shot in New Jersey include "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," "Jersey Couture," "Cake Boss," "Jersey Shore," and "Jerseylicious." Steve Gorelick, of New Jersey's Motion Picture and Television Commission, told News 12 New Jersey that 55 reality shows were filmed in New Jersey this year.

Reality show producers say that New Jersey is full of interesting locations and real people who are real characters. While filming the shows does bring money into New Jersey, they also leave an impression some don't like.
Reality shows don't generate the kind of money for New Jersey the way scripted dramas or feature films do, but the film and TV commission says this season of "Jersey Shore" will generate around $2 million for local businesses.
