SOUTH ORANGE - Residents from South Orange say there have been at least four home break-ins in the West Montrose section of the village in recent weeks.

Town officials say each break-in has happened while the homeowners were upstairs sleeping. Residents say suspects climbed through first-floor windows, stealing laptops, iPods, jewelry and cash.

Residents are encouraged to keep all windows and doors locked, and use their alarm systems.

Neighbors say they're pushing for increased patrols and hope police make an arrest before someone wakes up during one of the invasions.
