NEWARK - About 100 people took part in a special charity event that had them crawling down the side of a building Tuesday.
Each member of the group had to raise $1,000 for the Ohel Children's Home, a nonprofit that works with people with disabilities and mental illness and aids foster children and victims of domestic violence.
The fundraisers were allowed to rappel down the side of the IDT Building on Broad Street.
Today's donations will go to a specific cause.
"We're earmarking the money to scholarships at Camp Kailey in New York and the money will help children with disabilities," says Laurie Scenizer, of Ohel Children's Home.
A total of more than $100,000 in donations was collected for the event.
