BELMAR - Rain and periodic wind gusts made for an ugly driving day in New Jersey.

Today's rain is not expected to push rivers over their banks, but many people in Bergen County who have been hit hard by flooding are on edge with any amount of precipitation. Rain also fell at the Jersey Shore, where News 12 New Jersey caught up with some people hitting the sand even as the rain fell. For Thursday, News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says there is a slight chance for showers north and west. Otherwise, it will be cloudy with hints of sunshine in the afternoon. Temperatures on Thursday will remain seasonable in the mid-60s.
