NEWARK - The Prudential Center in Newark hosted the 2013 NHL Draft today.

The Devils made a big splash during the day’s events by trading their ninth pick to Vancouver for goalie Cory Schneider. Schneider was on the market once the Canucks were unable to dump high-priced goalie Roberto Luongo. Schneider seems in line to be the eventual successor to Martin Brodeur in net.

In the seventh round, the Devils picked Brodeur's son, Anthony Brodeur.

Nathan McKinnon, from the Halifax Mooseheads, was taken as the first overall pick by the Colorado Avalanche.
