NEWARK - Dozens of protesters gathered outside the Newark offices of U.S. senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker to protest federal support for Israel Tuesday.
Several protesters were asked to leave the building, so they gathered outside, chanting and carrying signs.
The demonstrators expressed complaints with the recent unrest, as well as what they see as an Israeli occupation of Gaza.
"People like myself and the people inside and those out here protesting are tired of seeing our tax dollars going to Israel and supporting Israel and using that money to kill innocent people," says Ron Destefano, with the Essex-Passaic Green Party.
Neither Sen. Menendez nor Sen. Booker were in their office at the time of the demonstration.
