NEWARK - The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a murder-suicide in Newark.

The office says police responded to a home on the 100-block of Lincoln Avenue at around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Officers found the bodies of a man and woman inside. They say 52-year-old Alberto Fermin-Alomar shot and killed his wife, 46-year-old Ana Luisa Peralta de Fermin, then turned the gun on himself.

Witnesses say the two leave behind adult children.
