Prosecutor's office probes police chief after News 12 investigation

UNION CITY - Following a Kane In Your Corner investigation, the Hudson County prosecutor confirms that his office is looking into Union City Police Chief Charles Everett's off-duty details.

In the past 24 months, the police chief earned more than $90,000 working off-duty security details at the Jose Marti Athletic Field in Union City. On the days that Kane in Your Corner cameras were watching, Everett worked only about half of the hours he was on the clock and was seen working out at the police gym while he was clocked in.

Union City says it has also begun an internal investigation which it hopes to have wrapped up by next week.KIYC: Ex-U.S. attorney to probe Union City police chief Kane In Your Corner: Union City investigation
