EWING TOWNSHIP - Investigators are looking to determine what triggered a natural gas leak and explosion that devastated a townhouse development in Ewing, killing one woman and injuring seven workers.
Authorities held a news conference this afternoon to give an update on the investigation.
Ewing Mayor Bert Steinmann told reporters that 20 or more of the 55 units damaged in yesterday's blast at the South Fork townhouse complex are uninhabitable right now.
Officials are awaiting autopsy results to identify the body of the woman that was found at the scene.
Authorities said three victims remain hospitalized, one of them in serious condition. Four others were released.
Some of the residents are being sheltered at a local firehouse, while others stayed overnight with family and friends.
The mayor said anyone wishing to make donations is asked to call the township's hotline at: 609-538-7587.
