MOUNT HOLLY - The search is on for a 28-year-old man who escaped while being transported to the Burlington County Jail, authorities say.

Police say Michael Mimms ran away from the jail at around 8:30 a.m. Saturday while authorities were trying to place him inside. He was handcuffed and not wearing shoes at the time.

He was last seen on High Street in Mount Holly.
