POINT PLEASANT - One day ahead of President Barack Obama's planed visit to northern New Jersey, Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) asked residents to begin returning to the beaches.

The president will tour areas of New Jersey heavily damaged by the flooding caused by Hurricane Irene, among them Paterson.

"These storms are not Republican storms or Democratic storms," Christie says. "We have one president, and I'll be there on behalf of New Jersey to welcome him and show him what he needs to know."
