Preschool student traumatized after being left on bus

PATERSON - A family in Paterson found out that their 4-year-old son was trapped on a school bus for hours on end.

Last Friday morning, Barry Gamble, Jr. was trapped for five hours in the parking lot of Paterson's Headstart Preschool.

The family says it believes that the school was trying to cover up the incident, since they learned about what had happened after the boy had been changed and fed. Barry remembers counting 34 bus seats as he walked up and down the aisle helplessly.

The executive director of the school couldn't comment directly, but News 12 New Jersey has learned the driver and the aide on that bus have since been fired.
