ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP - For many living in Rockaway Township, the lights finally came back on early this afternoon after a week without power.

As of this afternoon, thousands still remain without power across the Garden State.

Many residents held a morning meeting to voice their frustrations with Jersey Central Power and Light (JCP&L).

"You wake up in the morning and its 50 degrees in your house," says Steven Cook. "That's cold. It's warmer out here standing in the sun than it is in my house right now."

Rockaway Town Council President Mike Dachisen says that switching utilities is not out of the question after the extended outages.

A JCP&L spokesperson says that while power has been restored now to most of the customers, the utility will work until everyone has electricity again.
