JERSEY CITY - The heavy snowfall may be responsible for a partial building collapse in Jersey City.

The Jersey City Fire and Police departments were called to a Verizon building on Pamrapo Avenue at around 12:45 p.m. after neighbors reported hearing a loud explosion.

Nearly 25 percent of the building collapsed on the parking lot side of the building.  Three people were checked out by EMS for minor injuries, but did not need to be hospitalized.  All of the employees have been accounted for.

The exact cause of the collapse is under investigation.
