UNION - Two polls find more residents approve than disapprove of the job Gov. Chris Christie is doing a year into his term.

A Monmouth University/Gannett New Jersey Press Media Poll finds Christie's job approval rating 47-40 percent favorable. Christie gets high marks for cost-cutting but lower grades for providing property tax relief. The findings are higher than the previous Monmouth University/Gannett New Jersey Press Media Poll taken back in September.

A Quinnipiac University Poll puts the governor's job approval rating at 52-40 percent. This compares to a split 46 - 44 percent job approval in a December 21 survey.
