Poll: Most agree Xanadu is NJ's ugliest building

TRENTON - (AP) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie thinksXanadu, the stalled megamall project in the Meadowlands, is theugliest structure in the state.

A new poll out Thursday finds that most residents who know whatit is agree with him. They also agree that they don't want statemoney spent on redoing its oddly shaped and oddly colored exterior.

Less than half of those questioned in the latest QuinnipiacUniversity Poll had heard of Xanadu.

Eighty percent of them share Christie's view on its appearance,but they're divided about the project's future. Forty-six percentsay it should go forward and 41 percent want it abandoned.

The telephone survey of 1,532 registered voters was conductedApril 12-18 and has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 2.5percentage points.
