Police: Young boy killed in hit-and-run in Lakewood Twp.

LAKEWOOD TOWNSHIP - Police are investigating after a hit-and-run accident left a 12-year-old boy dead in Lakewood Township last night.

Officials say Edward Juarez was walking out of Lake Shenandoah Park at around 11 p.m. with friends and while crossing South Clover Street, was struck by a minivan going at a high speed rate.

Police say Juarez's friends did not get a good look at the driver.

Lakewood Township police ask anyone who's seen a newly damaged minivan, possibly with a broken windshield, to contact them.

A funeral for Juarez will be held Monday.
