Police: Trenton man held ex-girlfriend captive

TRENTON - (AP) - A man police say abducted his 15-year-old former girlfriend off a Trenton street and held her captive forfour days while he beat and sexually assaulted her has surrenderedto authorities.

Twenty-year-old Marquis Smith of Trenton surrendered to citypolice Wednesday night.

He faces a long list of charges, including kidnapping, criminalrestraint, sex assault and endangering the welfare of a child.The victim told police that Smith held her prisoner in an atticwithout food. She said she escaped Monday after Smith left thehouse.
