Police to search water in NY beach probe

YAPHANK, N.Y. - (AP) - Police divers plan to search an inlet alonga New York beach highway where as many as 10 sets of human remains have beenfound. The discoveries have been made during a search for victims of apossible serial killer. Newsday says divers will concentrate on Hemlock Cove onWednesday. Suffolk County Police Commissioner Richard Dormer is planning anafternoon media briefing on the investigation. On Tuesday, police in neighboring Nassau County confirmed thattwo sets of remains found this week were human. The findings come after police in Suffolk uncovered eight setsof human remains since December along the same highway. Authorities haven't linked all the remains found in the pastfive months to the same suspect. However, they theorize that thefirst four bodies could be victims of a serial killer.
