NUTLEY - Police in Nutley say three people who were fleeing police lost control of their van and struck a house on Satterthwaite Avenue earlier this morning.

An officer patrolling the area near River Road reported seeing them trying to steal a motorcycle, according to authorities. When police pulled up to the van, the suspects jumped in and sped off. Police had to use a crane to lift the van off the homeowner's car.

Authorities say they have arrested 18-year-old Anthony Olivo, of Paterson, who was found hiding in a nearby shed. The other two remain at large.

The homeowner says that an inspector was on scene quickly. The inspector advised the homeowner to leave the house, after a support beam got knocked out.
