HAWTHORNE - Police say there may be a second person attempting to abduct children in northern New Jersey.

Officials say a man tried to abduct an eighth-grade girl last night at a soccer game at Hawthorne Park at around 9 p.m. in Hawthorne.

Police say that based upon clothing and vehicle descriptions, they do not believe the suspect is the same person as the man who tried to abduct an 8-year-old girl in Maywood and is possibly connected to two other attempted abductions in Hackensack and Oradell in the past week.

Anyone with information relating to any of the attempted abductions is asked to contact their local police.
