HAMILTON - Police are continuing their search for the gunman who killed a 17-year-old and wounded four others during a birthday party in the Deutzville section of Hamilton Friday night.

Witnesses say there were about 100 people at the party for a 15-year-old girl at a house on Duetz Avenue around 11:20 p.m. when it turned violent.

Police say 17-year-old Shakir Williams, of Trenton, was killed. Four other males were hurt during the shooting, one of whom remains in critical condition. Williams, a football player for Trenton Central High School, was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The party had been advertised on Twitter as early as July 7. It was posted in tweets as a "BYOB" (bring your own beer), and “BYOW” (bring your own weed) kickback party.

The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office says that there was a 23-year-old collecting a cover charge at the door. Investigators say the parents of the 15-year-old were upstairs during the party.

Those parents are being questioned as to whether they were serving alcohol to minors.
