EDISON - Authorities in Hudson County have been called in to assist in the search for what is believed to be the gun used to kill Lakewood Patrolman Christopher Matlosz.
Several dozen law enforcement officers were apparently searching a stretch of Interstate 195 near exit 16 around noon today. The right lane of the stretch was shut down, according to the state Department of Transportation website.
Hudson County officials tell News 12 New Jersey that Ocean County officials requested assistance Sunday afternoon and Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari agreed to send two dogs and two officers that are trained to find bombs or weapons.
