Police search for driver in fatal hit-and-run

CLIFTON - Police in Clifton are searching for the driver involved a fatal hit-and-run accident yesterday.

Police say Kia Williams, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene after the eastbound vehicle struck her as she walked in the crosswalks on Allwood Road near Richfield Terrace.

Residents familiar with the neighborhood say the busy intersection is dangerous. "I've always known it was a dangerous intersection and suggested they put a traffic light in," said Chris Opperman.

Authorities ask anyone with information regarding the accident to call Clifton Police at 973-470-5908.
