PASSAIC - Police say a Passaic man who had stabbed himself multiple times made his way into a public elementary school.

A maintenance worker found the bleeding 27-year-old man around 5:25 a.m. Wednesday on the third floor of Roosevelt School No. 10. The trespasser was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police determined the man stabbed himself with a knife at his home, located about a block west of the school. They say he then walked inside the school, although it is not yet known how.

The man has no connection to the school, and classes went on as scheduled during the day.
