A large police presence was reported in the downtown area this afternoon.

Police in Jersey City say reports of someone with a gun that prompted a large law enforcement response were "unfounded."

Police officers, SWAT, and K-9 units swarmed the normally quiet neighborhood in the area of Erie and 10th streets Wednesday afternoon.
