MAHWAH - Mahwah Police confirm that Ramapo College in Mahwah is no longer under lockdown.

The campus had been locked down briefly following reports of a shooting on campus. Students received a text just after midnight advising them to stay indoors.

Ramapo College issued a statement on their website stating that "Police received a false report of a shooting on the Ramapo College campus. Investigation confirmed no shooting occurred. An individual is in police custody, charged with filing a false report."
