Police probe robbery at Lambertville antique shop

LAMBERTVILLE - Police are investigating the robbery of thousands of dollars worth of silver, gold and paintings from a Lambertville antique shop this morning.

Authorities responded to an activated burglar alarm just before 3 a.m. at Jim's of Lambertville. Heavy smoke was discovered inside the shop, according to police.

Police say the smoke was due to ?smoke bombs? set off inside the building, possibly in an effort to provide cover for the heist.

Authorities are talking to witnesses and viewing surveillance footage in an effort identify suspects in the break-in. Anyone with information is asked to call the Lambertville Police Department at 609-397-3132.
