Police probe 6th Bergen County luring; latest reported in Hackensack

The latest attempt reportedly happened near the corner of Union and Lawrence streets. (3/18/14)

HACKENSACK - Authorities in Bergen County are investigating the sixth child luring case in two weeks.

Police in Hackensack say a student at the city's middle school reported being approached by a man while walking to school around 7:30 a.m. on Monday. The student declined the man's request for help in looking for a lost dog.

The man is described as a white or Hispanic male in his 20s or 30s with a goatee. He was last seen driving a black two-door Honda on Union Street.

Police are also investigating reports of luring attempts in Leonia, Norwood and Ridgefield Park. They don't believe the incidents are related, and descriptions of the suspects are different in each case.
