NUTLEY - Nutley police say they received an early morning anonymous call today about three young children who were seen alone in a car in a Nutley ShopRite parking lot.

Police say the young children, a 2-month-old, a 1-year-old and a 6-year-old were left unattended in the car with the windows up as their mother grocery shopped.

The mother has been identified as Jennifer MacDonald, 26, of Newark. When she returned from her shopping trip, police arrested her.

MacDonald is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor. The Department of Youth and Family Services say it is also investigating the incident.
