TOMS RIVER - An Ocean County mother has been arrested on charges she allegedly attacked two fourth-grade boys she claimed were bullying her 9-year-old daughter.

Witnesses told Toms River police Rebecca Sardoni, 28, of Toms River, and her mother, Stephanie Sardoni, 51, of Beachwood boarded a school bus bound for East Dover Elementary School and sought out boys they claimed had been harassing Rebecca Sardoni's daughter.

Police say Rebecca Sardoni cursed at and slapped two boys while her mother screamed at them.

Rebecca Sardoni denies she hit or touched anyone. She was charged with simple assault, criminal trespass and making terroristic threats. The 28-year-old mother reportedly took matters into her own hands because school officials ignored her complaints.

The grandmother was charged with criminal trespass, for boarding the bus.
