Police make arrest in murder of 13-year-old in Newark

NEWARK - Police say an arrest has been made in last week's shooting death of 13-year-old Dante Young in Newark.

Authorities say John Brinson, of Newark, has been charged in connection with the murder. He is accused of shooting Young near the corner of S. 9th Street and South Orange Avenue.

Young was from a section of Newark that has been especially hard hit by crime. Residents tell News 12 New Jersey that they are demanding that a police station be reopened in the neighborhood.
