Police looking for 2 men in botched pizza shop robbery

COLONIA - Police in Colonia are searching for two alleged robbers who fled following a failed robbery attempt at a pizzeria.

Authorities say two masked men, one brandishing a gun, entered last night through the rear kitchen door of Ciro Pizza on Lake Avenue. Police say the owner, who was working behind the counter at the time, ran out the front door of the restaurant when the would-be robbers made entry.

The suspects then apparently made several attempts to pry open the cash register but couldn't, police said. The suspects fled empty-handed through the back door and disappeared on foot.
