Police look to ID Hackensack bus stop rape suspect

Police in Bergen County are asking the public for help identifying a suspect wanted for sexual assault in Hackensack.

HACKENSACK - Police in Bergen County are asking the public for help identifying a suspect wanted for sexual assault in Hackensack.

A woman told Hackensack police that on the night of Nov. 27 she was approached by a skinny black man by a bus stop on Main Avenue near Poplar Avenue in Hackensack. She says the man held her at gunpoint and demanded money from her before sexually assaulting her.

The suspect is described as a skinny black man with a medium to dark complexion. He had short cropped hair and was about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was about 30 to 40 years old. 

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office has released a composite sketch of the suspect.
