OCEAN TOWNSHIP - Police say an Ocean Township Little League coach prevented a drunken father from driving his 11-year-old son home from practice last week. Police say the Ocean Township Little League coach kept the drunken dad from taking off with his 11-year-old son while parents called the authorities. The boy was already seated in the car, but the motor was not running. Witnesses report that Richard Miller, 48, of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, had been driving erratically and had struck a curb.

Miller was charged with DUI and endangering the welfare of a child.
