Police investigating school bus crash that injured 2 in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD - Police are investigating a school bus accident that left a 16-year-old girl and a woman from Switzerland critically injured yesterday in Lakewood. Police say a car pulled out right in front of the empty bus at the intersection of Monmouth Avenue and County Line Road at about 5 p.m. The bus slammed into the car, flipped and pinned a teenage girl on her bicycle.

The girl and the driver of the car were both airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center. Both are expected to survive.

Police say the bus driver and the passenger in the car have minor injuries. No charges have been filed yet.
