Police hunt counterfeiter for bogus bills in Wyckoff

WYCKOFF - Police say they are on the hunt for a man who used counterfeit currency in Wyckoff.

The incident occurred at Millers Pharmacy. Surveillance tapes show the man giving the cashier a bogus $100 bill for an $8 item. Authorities say the bill was not detected until it went to the bank.

Authorities say the alleged counterfeiter then attempted to do the same thing at a nearby Walgreens.

Police say the suspect allegedly took a $5 bill, removed the ink, and printed it to look like a $100 bill.
