EDISON - Police believe “horseplay” caused a group of teenagers to crash a car on Route 46 in Fairfield.

According to authorities, the 17-year-old driver and three other teenage passengers were inside the vehicle.

The driver was allegedly fooling around when another passenger grabbed the wheel, causing the car to good off the road.

The vehicle hit a parked car and dump truck.

A Fairfield police deputy chief says it is a “holiday miracle” that there were no serious injuries.
