Police hope gunman's unusual jacket will help in finding him

ROSELLE - Police say they hope the unusual bright jacket worn by a gunman will help in finding him after he robbed a convenience store in Roselle early Monday.

The clerk says she was preparing to open the Welsh Farms store in Roselle around 5:30 a.m. Monday when a man asked to be let in early.

Police say the suspect then pulled out a gun and led her to the store's office, where they were joined by a second man. The clerk was told she wouldn't be hurt, if she cooperated, according to authorities.

Investigators say that the two suspects then tied the clerk up with duct tape and put a paper bag over her head before making off with nearly $7,000. Twenty minutes after the ordeal began; a customer found the clerk and called police.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Roselle Police Department at 908-245-9200
