SOUTH BRUNSWICK - Police in South Brunswick say a gas station attendant has been charged with harassment after he told a teen girl she could pay with a kiss.

Police say the incident took place Wednesday at the Raceway Station on Route 1 in South Brunswick. According to South Brunswick Police Sgt. Jim Ryan, attendant Melad Kaleal gave the girl $20 worth of gas. When the customer explained that she didn't have enough money, Kaleal said that he would take care of the bill if she gave him a kiss. Investigators say when he leaned in to the vehicle, the girl put her hands up over her face.

Police say the girl's mother was told Kaleal would be fired after she went to the gas station to complain about him. When News 12 New Jersey visited Friday morning, Kaleal was there waiting on customers.

A Raceway Petroleum spokesperson said in a statement, "We were made aware of this incident early this afternoon. The employee was immediately fired. Raceway Petroleum has zero tolerance for this sort of behavior."
