EDISON - A Pennsylvania man was arrested by Port Authority police near the Holland Tunnel after a gun and dozens of rounds of ammunition were discovered hidden in his truck.

Police say an officer saw a truck hauling a plastic drum around 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The officer pulled the driver over to find out if he was carrying hazardous materials.

Police say 45-year-old Marlon Murphy told the officer there was a gun and ammunition in the drum.

A 12-gauge shotgun and nearly 200 shells hidden were found inside a pair of pants.

Murphy has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.
